I recently had a computer concepts class, and in it we discussed the possibility of having IPv6 at some point in the future. IPv4 & 6 are protocols that allocate IP addresses on the web. Well, it's closer than you think.
Usually something we don't think about, but there are only a finite number of IP addresses available on the web. We currently use IPv4, but the new version will greatly expand that. The comparison in this article is mind boggling.
